Rotary Club of Chilliwack Launches 50/50 Community Raffle
The Rotary Club of Chilliwack is pleased to announce the Chilliwack Rotary 50/50 Community Raffle. 50% of the jackpot goes to the winner, and 50% supports our community through the work of Chilliwack Rotary.

Jerry Zdril, chair of the raffle committee, said, “We’re excited to launch this new opportunity in Chilliwack. It gives someone in the community a chance to win big, and helps support the work of the club at the same time.”
After mentoring from the Rotary Clubs of Langley, who hold a similar draw in their community, the club went ahead and launched the raffle this year. Zdril added, “Langley raises over $100,000 per year in their community. We’re hopeful Chilliwack will embrace our raffle to the same extent.”
Tickets are on sale until midnight on December 3. The draw will be made on December 4 at noon at the club’s meeting at the Chilliwack Curling Club. Visitors are welcome to attend. Zdril continued, “We wanted to have the draw to take place in December so that there was still time for the winning ticket holder to do some holiday shopping or take a winter getaway with their winnings.”
At present, tickets are on sale online only, but the club will have booths at Chilliwack Ribfest and the Chilliwack Fair where they can share a QR code for people to scan to purchase tickets themselves.
Club President Jared Mumford added, “The club’s share of the 50/50 will be put towards scholarships, environmental projects such as trails or habitat restoration, and food security projects. These are areas the club has supported and where we see a need in our community.”
The Rotary Club of Chilliwack is part of Rotary International, a global network of 1.4 million community leaders dedicated to service. The club meets every Friday at noon at the Chilliwack Curling Club, and welcomes guests and prospective members to their meetings. The Rotary Club of Chilliwack has been involved in many landmark initiatives including major funding the Chilliwack General Hospital Emergency Expansion (2010), Central Community Park (2005), the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve (2002), the Rotary Trail (1995) the Browne Creek Wetlands (2018), the Vedder Rotary Loop Trail (2019), the Rotary Pool (1969), as well as numerous international and local projects. They also award over $32,000 in scholarships annually.
