Doug Robb Concert - Corkys Irish Pub

Western Canadian singer-songwriter Doug Robb steps into a new chapter with “Shine,” a soaring new solo acoustic single that brings his powerhouse voice and decades of rock experience into a more intimate setting. Drawing inspiration from songwriters including Richie Sambora, Bryan Adams and Billy Joel, “Shine” pairs Doug’s unmistakable vocals with a stripped-back acoustic sound, putting the focus squarely on melody, storytelling and the kind of big-hearted songwriting that has followed him throughout his career. The single is part of a growing collection of acoustic material as Doug works toward a new solo album.

For Doug, the return to original music has been a long time coming. Formerly the frontman for Canadian bands Sins of Omission, .50 (Point Five Oh) and Ministry of Zen, he spent years touring Canada, releasing music to commercial radio and sharing stages with Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth, David Wilcox, Helix, and Edwin & The Pressure before stepping away from music to focus on raising his daughter and building a career in the corporate world. But the pull of songwriting never disappeared, and two and a half years ago he left that security behind to return to music full-time. Now performing more than 200 shows annually, “Shine” captures an artist reconnecting with the thing that has driven him since childhood, and allowing his own songs and voice to take centre stage again.
