Hope Slough Canoe Tour - Chilliwack

Hope Slough Canoe Tour - Chilliwack

Hope Slough Canoe Tour.jpg

Back by popular demand! Paddle along with us as we talk about the historical and biological importance of the slough, and help us improve it by picking up garbage as we go. A BBQ lunch will be provided (by donation) by the 1st Fairfield Scouts.
In collaboration with Friends of Camp-Hope Slough (#SOS), Watershed Watch Salmon Society has been working hard to raise awareness of the values of the Camp and Hope waterways and the need to improve water quality & overall habitat of waterways impacted by flood infrastructure. Waterways like these provide important habitat for wild pacific salmon such as the chinook salmon, integral to the survival of southern resident killer whales. They are also a great way to spend a day floating through Chilliwack.
Canoes are available to rent for $20 per person (PFD included) - this reserves one attendee's spot in a canoe, not an entire boat. Each boat seats 2 people, but we cannot guarantee you will be seated with specific people.

If you have your own canoe or kayak and PFD then you can join us for free! Please reserve a free RSVP ticket so we can account for the post-paddle BBQ lunch.
This event is rain or shine, so make sure to dress for the weather. Please bring your own bottle of water.
We would like to acknowledge that this event will take place on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Sto:lo nations: Cheam, Skway and Skwah nations.
